LinkedIn Messenger Bot
For this scenario you’ll need a Unipile account (CLICK HERE). You get use of the API free for 30 days (then it’s only $50 a month).
After you’ve signed up, you’ll need to connect your LinkedIn account, then create an Access Token, then record your DSN, and finally record your Unipile LI account id.
Step 1 - in the very first module you’ll need to create a new Webhook.
Simply click “Add” to create one. You’ll need the resulting webhook URL to proceed.
Step 2 - create the Webhook in Unipile. You don’t have to do this as an API call in Make. You can use their API docs to create it.
Go to this page => Create a webhook (unipile.com)
Follow these instructions to enter the correct parameters…
(enter your API key, DSN, the webhook url, and LI account id)
Then add these…
(add Content-Type as the key and application/json as the value)
The click the “Try It” button and your webhook will be live…
Now, anytime a private message is sent to or from your connected LinkedIn account, if you have the webhook scenario turned on in Make, it will trigger the webhook and pass your data.
NOW, back to the Scenario in Make.
First, disconnect the webhook module from the rest of the modules. Then Run once. Then send a message from your LinkedIn account (so that it will grab data you can use in the other modules).
Next, in the first HTTP module labeled “API Call Chat History” you’ll need to input your Unipile DSN and API key.
The next two HTTP modules for API calls that gather profile data require the same inputs, but additionally they also require your LinkedIn Unipile account ID.
Next, the GPT module requires your input wherever it states [YOUR PAGE/PROFILE] as well as a description of the tone and personality you prefer it use, and example posts from you.
The last module just needs your Unipile DSN and API key.
And that’s it. With all of these parameters filled in properly and set up you should be able to respond and converse with people via DM through LinkedIn, hands-free.
